Today, May 7th the road to the east entrance of the park opened and Pat, Jon and I decided to check it out. There was lots of snow as in 3 to 6 foot besides the road, the roads were clear and dry. This road went to Fisherman's bridge which is a campsite and fishing area, We stopped at the general store which was a large building with a huge walk in fireplace.
This is the area we came too 15 years ago and stayed at the east entrance at Pahaska Teepee which was Buffalo Bill Cody's hunting lodge where he entertained princes and presidents. Bill Cody was really big for this area as he went to Washington to raise the money to build a automobile road to yellowstone from Cody, Wy. Until that time there was no automotive traffic into Yellowstone.
I will follow with several other pictures of the scenery in this area of the park.
