Chico Hot Springs, Sunday, May 9th, 2010

I have spoken of Chico before but will mention it again as it is my favorite watering hole. It is a destination resort that has been there since 1897 right after the Emigrant gold rush.

If you follow the dirt road up the gulch you will see the remains of the gold rush with old buildings and a road built right on the edge of the cliffs

There is a hot pool at Chico that is fed by mineral water but it is not high in sulphur, it stays at 96 degrees and is drained and refilled each day. It is a local attraction and is just wonderful.

There is also hotel rooms or cabins of any type that you can stay in

Horseback riding and over 100 horses and the best of all a saloon that reminds me of "Os and Ginny's" completed with shuffleboard.

We have spent a lot of time at Chico's and it is only 5 miles from the house that we rented. It is truly one of a kind.
