Today we need to go over to Mark and Terry's to get the ring pillow so I can finish it. So we picked up Grandmother and came back to the RV for me to turn the needlepoint into a pillow and stuff it and sew it closed. I added a little strap in the back of the pillow for the ring boy to hold onto. I finished it just in time because we needed to be back in Westminster to meet everybody at the Japanese Steak House. Terry's brother, Pat, and his wife, Kathleen are in town from California early for the wedding. They are helping Terry with things for the wedding. Mike and Patti Whitson and John and Sherry; but not Aunt Rosie, are attending also. So it'll be a group of about 17 of us.
The chef cooked the food on a grill in front of us. He also threw shrimp for people tom catch in mid flight with their mouths. Terry tried to catch them many times. She finally caught one. I'm glad I didn't try. I'm not good at athletics.Katherine sat next to me and she was a little lady. She has become such a pretty little girl.

Today we leave Linda's to drive to Woodbine, Maryland to park the RV closer to the wedding. This is a really nice RV park. And it's decorated for Halloween with the Grim Reaper, huge spiders made from a bale of hay with 8 golf balls for eyes and huge septic tubes for it's 8 legs. The RV park has some people that must stay for"long periods because some of them have wood stacked up between trees on their slot. others have a satellite dish sitting just behind their campers.

We slept really good upstairs in Linda's house. Her house backs up to Gunpowder Falls State Park, so there are woods all around. The leaves are starting to change so the trees are really pretty. Daddy and I watched 5 deer right in her backyard eat leaves and grass. They come in from the state park and Linda says they are always around.
We went out to Cpstco and Target looking for a wedding present for Anna and Matt. Then we filled up the RV with yogurt and water too. The batteries on the RV are running too low, so we stopped to buy new ones close by Linda's.
The whole afternoon was spent at Lassahn Funeral Home and Parkwood Cemetary setting up the arrangements for NaNa's funeral ahead of time. The funeral home has been there since 1864. It has been added onto several times to enlarge it . I was able to find the gravesides of my relatives that I wanted. I had to clean off my Becker grandmother's. It was all covered with grass; so I cleaned it umps you could see her footstone. We signed the papers for PopPop's Navy marker to be placed there. We still have to order a flat headstone. But at least it is all done.
Tonight we took Linda, Tom and Marie out to dinner at their local Double T Dinner. Daddy ordered chicken Marsala and really enjoyed it. I never realized Tom and Linda used to own an airplane which they took trips in. Tomorrow we need to move the Rv up to Woodstock, Md, which is closer to Frederick for the wedding. Q

We are driving against traffic to Maryland so we are making pretty good time. Terry would like me to help out with Anna's ring pillow so I need to get there to see what she wants. We picked up Grandmother to go to lunch at the Chinese restaurant and then we went to Jo annes and Michaels for the pillow fabric and patterns. Jo Anns had several fabrics, but I don't know which Anna would want. Terry said Anna is not the bridezilla, she is instead.
We went to Linda and Tom's house in Perry Hall to stay for a few days. I have two bags of fabric for Marie from NaNa. It'll be good to see them. So much of the farm fields have been turned into housing developments. All of the open fields from Fitch Avenue up to Lindy's old gas station are housing developments and shopping centers. Yardsticks Fabrics owned by my girlfriend's mother, Sandra Zommedies, is gone and nothing that reminds me of the old Perry Hall shopping center is there anymore. I did find Penn Avenue just before the elementary school where Aunt Genieve and Uncle Johnny lived with their farm. But I didn't go down the street. I remember my cousin selling it off when they died. They gave me the high chair that all of my kids remember being in; the big stroller and bassinet also. They have built a road from 695 to Perry Hall that connects the two. I think it's called rt.43. That was never rehire before. I have been away too long.
Linda's house is huge and so is her lot. She must have several acres and her house is 2 stories in brick with a full walk out basement. Her brother-in-law lives in an apartment in the basement. She has 7 bedrooms and 8 bathrooms! Marie has her own set of rooms upstairs that are huge and 2 bathrooms all her own. She has her own washer and dryer upstairs and a little refrigerator and sink for a little kitchenette.
Linda and Tom have 4 cats: a big red fluffy Mikey, who must weigh 22 pounds, a tortoise shell named Tabby, and 2 all white fluffy cats named Pinky - a boy, and Squeeky - a girl. Pinky is clipped for the summer into a lion looking haircut. Marie fixed a Costco pork shoulder roast that was delicious.

Today we watched the Jaguars lose the game really bad . We were at a sports bar that had speakers at each table in addition to about 35 TVs hanging on the walls. So Ray and Carol were able to watch the Redskins play while we watched the Jaguars. I think the Redskins won though!
Carol and I went to a Carter's outlet. She bought really cute sweater dress for her granddaughter. I didn't think the process were very good. Then we went to look for an evening bag for the wedding.I couldn't find any that were cheap enough or I would ever use again.
We had to play pinochle again tonight. The guys have to save their names and win. So now we are tied for wins and losses. Tomorrow morning we leave early for Westminster, Md.

The weather is crisp and cool here. Perfect autumn weather! Carolann and I are going shopping while the guys watch the college football games. We went to Burlington Coat Factory Outlet, Michaels and Joannes. I was able to purchase the embroidery thread to make my autumn fingertip towels. Carol has copied several of her yummy recipes and several of her cross stitch patterns for me. I can't wait to start them.
This afternoon we went into Fairfax, Virginia to eat steamed crabs, shrimp and oysters. The steamed crabs were large and full and from the Chesapeake Bay. This was said to be a really good yearn for crabs in the Bay. The steamed shrimp were big and the raw and fried oysters were delicious. We watched football games on their TVA also.
At night we went to Washington, D.C. To watch "the Capital Steps", a political satire about the recent events in Congress. it was really funny. They had good immataters of Clinton, Hilary, Polossi, and several other Congress people. They mentioned that we could solve the global warming crisis by allowing Hilary to sit on it! Funny! Funny!

We had so much fun playing pinochle with Carol and Ray last night. Today Daddy will watch college football games with Ray while Carol and I run around shopping. We went to Burlington Coat Factory, Michaels and Michaels. I was able to buy the embroidery thread I needed for the fingertip towels and my autumn wreath. Carol found a cute dress and leggings for her granddaughter.
Carol showed me how to get on ebay and Daddy registered me. So now I can buy some things on bay. Carol buys clothes for her grandkids on ebay.
We went into Fairfax, Virginia, to eat steamed crabs, steamed shrimp, raw oysters and fried oysters..The crabs were called large and they were very full. It haa been a good year for the Chesapeake Bay Crabs. They were delicious! The steamed shrimp were a good size too. They had football games on the many tvs.
That night we had tickets for the Capital Steps, which is a political satire about Washington D.C. It was hilarious! They had people impersonating Hilary,

Friday, October 22, 2010.
This morning we woke up early and left to drive the last 60 miles to Herndon, Virginia, just before Reston, Virginia. Reston, Virginia is a planned town that allowed for apartments, condos, duplexes and single family homes from all levels of society. The government assists those poorer people who are working but can't afford the apartment fees. But the manager of the apartment complex does not know who those families are. They only allow for 20% of the occupancy needing assistance. Therefore, the neighborhood retains it's integrity.
Being a little cooler today, the leaves are just starting to change. It seems the shrub weeds are turning yellow first, then the maple trees. Some of the trees have lost their leaves at the tops only. The oaks and gums have not changed yet.
There was quite a bit of traffic heading towards Washington D.C.; but more was heading towards us. Carol is off today, so we will be able to arrive this morning. Jimmy is trading his stocks again; so I need to gather the clothes we will wear this week end at Carol's and Ray's. We are to park our RV in their driveway and sleep in their house. They are in a really nice development with large homes that are very nicely landscaped. Each house has large mature trees and shrubs separating each other; therefore they are very private. Across the street is the stone wall that surrounds the town of Reston from all other towns. Their house is on Champion Lake and was rebuilt 5 years ago when it burned down. When they rebuilt it, Ray did an awesome job and made it absolutely beautiful. They put in top of the line fixtures and cabinets, hardwood floors, and appliances. When you have a fire, the insurance company will only pay for a new house on the existing lot and it must be the same footprint. Some people were surprised they could come back here after their loss. A faulty air conditioner wire caught fire and they were very lucky they even woke up to be able to escape. Carol feels there was a guardian angel that woke Ray up because their cats didn't even smell the smoke. God definitely had them in his hands!
Carol made a delicious dinner of surf and turf with crab stuffed shrimp! It was yummy! Then we had low calorie cheesecake with strawberries that was delicious. I copied the recipe. The 4 of us played pinochle for several hours. Carol and I were teammates and beat the guys in several games. They can't wait to play again on Sunday to finally beat us. We'll have to see if they can do it. Carol had double pinochle two times tonight. That's very unusual. I don't think I've had double pinochle twice in the last 40 years!
Tomorrow, the guys will watch the college football games and Carol and I are going shopping. At 4 PM we will eat steamed crabs, steamed shrimp and oysters at a seafood restaurant in Fairfax, Virginia. Then we will go to see a political satire called the Capital Steps in downtown Washington D.C.
